CM Oommen Chandy promises to set right anomalies in Ghat report

Mr Chandy told the delegation that the state government was giving top priority to the issue
KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has promised to correct the anomalies in the report submitted by the state to the Union Ministry of Forest and Environment on the Western Ghats conservation in the wake of the Kasturirangan report.
He gave this assurance to a delegation of Paschimaghatta Janasamrakshana Samithy (|Western Ghats People's Protection Committee) headed by Thamarassery bishop Remigiose Inchananiyil which called on him here on Tuesday morning.
Mr Chandy, who was here in connection with the UDF civic poll campaign, held talks with bishop Dr Varghese Chakkalakkal of Kozhikode diocese also.
Bishop Inchananiyil urged the CM to correct the report speedily and bring out a revised map of Western Ghats region. Mr Chandy told the delegation that the state government was giving top priority to the issue.
Mr M.K. Raghavan MP, Thamarassery diocese chancellor Fr Ebraham Kavilpurayidam and action council general convener Dr Chacko Kalamparambil were among those who attended the meeting.
