Big names in the race to build premium projects
Hyderabad: The race is on for bagging prized projects in Andhra Pradesh. Overcoming controversies and teething troubles, the Infrastructure Corporation of AP, AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and the Capital Regional Development Authority have been busy awarding projects to companies. INCAP has awarded the Rs 333-crore AP fiber grid project, to extend broadband connectivity throughout the state, to Tera Software and HFCL consortium.
A top official of INCAP said, “We have clarified and confirmed about the issue of blacklisting and delisting of Tera Software by the Civil Supplies department. After confirming that there is no problem and at the time of bidding for the project the company was not in the blacklist, we have awarded the project to it following due procedures. The company management had announced that they were likely to bag the project after they were identified as L1 vendor and were awaiting the letter of intent.” Tera Software consortium will now lay overhead cables in AP. The government will be providing broadband connectivity to all households at a lesser rate after nine months.
