Bhagat Singh’s kin flays caste, religion-based politics
Bengaluru: Abhitej Singh, grandnephew of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, said here on Tuesday that caste and religion-based politics is dangerous for the country and that more youngsters should join politics to fight these elements.
At a media interaction at the Bengaluru Press Club, he said, “Politicians are dividing youngsters along the lines of caste and religion. They should be aware of this plot. Though India is termed a secular country, religion and caste are playing a vicious role in the country’s administration. In India today, the rich are trying to raid on the poor.”
He said, “Political parties are misusing the names of freedom fighters, including Bhagat Singh and Netaji, for their selfish gains. It is a sad development.”
He said, “Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi are talking about the Indian youth, but they are not doing anything for the youth. The gap between India and Bharath is widening by the day. There is a need to arrest this development.”
