Telangana advised to make public phone numbers of cops
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday suggested the Telangana state government to make the mobile number of police officer available to the general public, so that citizens can send images or other related information through Whatsapp with regard to illegal quarrying and transporting of sand.
A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a plea by an organisation, “Watch - Voice of the People” challenging the inaction of the authorities against illegal sand mining in Mahbubnagar district wherein farmers were being killed for questioning the illegal transportation of sand from their agricultural lands.
The bench suggested the government to set up a toll free number so that the people can pass on information on the illegal operations.
