Prepare Smart city report in time: Ganta Srinivasa Rao

Visakhapatnam: HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao directed the district officials to prepare a preliminary report of the master plan to transform Vizag into a smart city according to the rules and norms stipulated and also within the time limit.
The minister, on Monday, presided over the smart city advisory committee meeting at the GVMC conference hall. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked the representatives of the consortium - IBM, KPMG and AECOM – to prepare the report within the time.
During the meeting, he enquired the consultants about the process involved in formulating the report. “As 100 cities are competing to make it into the final list of the smart cities, we have to draft and submit the preliminary report with utmost caution by Dec. 15,” said Vizag MP K. Haribabu. He asked them to take all topographic, geographic conditions of city into consideration.
District Collector Dr. N. Yuvraj said they were taking all measures to complete the report within the time. “We conducted series of meetings with all stakeholders and we are going to take the opinions of about 3-5 lakh people in the city by Oct. 30.” said GVMC commissioner Pravin Kumar. MLC Pappala Chalapathi Rao and others were present.
