Sources said that the village elders suspected Narasimhulu was practising sorcery

Bhoraj (Adilabad): Chittivelli Narasimhulu, 72, a Dalit from Bhoraj village in Jainad mandal, just five km from Adilabad town, was branded a sorcerer and humiliated by landlords belonging to the upper castes.
Unable to bear the harassment, Narasimhulu consumed pesticide the next day and died while he was undergoing treatment at the RIMS, Adilabad.
The incident that took place on October 8 came to light two days ago. Sources said that the village elders suspected Narasimhulu was practising sorcery after some locals fell sick.
They cornered Narasimhulu and questioned him, and alleged that he was practising sorcery and had hidden three “witchcraft toys”, in the bed of the local rivulet.
