Hyderabad: A constable was murdered by his wife in Medak district on Monday. “Bal Laxmi attacked Narsimhulu with a knife at the height of an argument over a family dispute. M. Narsimhulu was attached to Begumpet police station in Medak district,” police said.
Narsimhulu and Ballaxmi, who got married 15 years ago, had been having frequent fights over petty issues. Narsimhulu, addicted to alcohol, was allegedly harassing Laxmi both mentally and physically. Elders from both sides had intervened but the differences persisted.
At one time, Laxmi approached higher officials in the police department. They counselled the couple, but without any effect. Laxmi then left Narsimhulu and was staying with her parents. Meanwhile, Narsimhulu put his house at Gajwel up for sale. When Laxmi came to know of this, she came to Narsimhulu’s house along with her parents and brother on Monday.
“She picked up an argument with him. The argument went on, and Laxmi got furious. She took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Narsimhulu in the neck,” said Siddipet DSP Sridhar. Narsimhulu died on the spot and Laxmi went to the police station and surrendered herself after confessing to the killing of her husband.
