Director Srinu Vaitla’s career, as well as his personal life, are at an all time low. His last two films, Aagadu and Bruce Lee, flopped and he was also pulled into controversies involving writers Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan and later with actor Prakash Raj.
To make matters worse, the director’s wife Rupa has accused him of mental and physical harassment. Rupa had filed a complaint almost a week ago but it had been kept under wraps. Later, with the intervention of industry people, she withdrew the complaint. All this will definitely affect the celebrated filmmaker’s career.
Interestingly, Srinu had tasted initial success with small stars like Manchu Vishnu and Ram Pothineni. He later went on to become one of the highest paid directors in Tollywood.
“Most of his films have done well at the box office, but the result of his last two films has affected him psychologically. He needs a break and then make a comeback, then everything will be normal,” says a close source of the director.
Meanwhile, Srinu will also have to build a new team as his old friends might not work with him again for his next project.
