Actor Rajasekhar, his wife Jeevitha and their two daughters met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday evening. “We met him at his residence; he is such a down-to-earth person,” says Jeevitha.
The PM spent around 10 minutes with the family and even enquired about the kids’ studies. He was impressed when the kids, Shivatmika and Shivani, spoke to him in fluent Hindi.
The two also presented him with a tie, cufflinks and a scarf, which the PM happily accepted and thanked them for. They even asked Modi whether he would wear them as he was always seen in traditional wear, to which he replied, “Yes, I will wear them in London, where I am going soon.”
“It was a good time and we were all surprised with the way he received us,” says Jeevitha. Modi asked the couple to concentrate more on the Swachh Bharat programme.
“He told us that we should concentrate more on that mission as people followed celebrities,” adds Jeevitha. Rajasekhar, meanwhile, discussed alternative medicine and yoga with the PM, who listened keenly. Modi even invited the family to his house in Gujarat where his mother lives.
