Simran is all set to launch her maiden production venture under her home banner ‘Simran and Sons’. Billed as a sci-fi flick, the movie will have the actress in an action avatar
Simran, the Kollywood heart-throb, had announced a few months ago that she, along with her better half Deepak, is venturing into production. In an earlier interview to DC, the actress revealed that their home banner has been titled ‘Simran and Sons’ and that they will come up with a couple of films in Tamil with different scripts, featuring established as well as debutant actors.
After listening to various scripts, she has now locked the director for her maiden production venture. Ad filmmaker Gowri Shankar will make his filmi debut with this untitled project which is likely to start filming in a couple of months.
An excited Simran opens up, “We have been listening to lots of scripts since the announcement of the production company was made. A story-line narrated by Gowri Shankar impressed us and we gave it the nod. 3
The film belongs to the sci-fi genre, and I can vouch that its story and narrative style will stand out owing to its novelty. I play an investigative officer, something on the lines of a RAW agent, in the movie. Though my character will have ample scope for performing action scenes, we are ensuring that there won’t be any run-of-the-mill stunt sequences where the baddies are thrashed black and blue.”
