TAG: N Balakrishna cautions Centre
Hyderabad: The demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh has picked up momentum. After the ruling party MP Galla Jayadev going vocal and expressing disappointment over Prime Minister not announcing any special package or status for AP at the Amaravati ceremony, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has received a jolt from some unexpected quarter.
This time, it is from within the family. Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna has warned the Centre that people will begin to doubt its sincerity if special status was not granted.
Though Mr Balakrishna exuded confidence that the Centre would grant special status to AP, he nevertheless said it would be an insult to the people of AP if the status was not given.
He was responding to queries from the media at a walk organised in connection with spreading awareness on breast cancer.
