Hostel warden commits suicide
Hyderabad: A hostel warden at Narayana Junior College residential campus in Hyderguda committed suicide by “hanging himself” in his room there on Sunday. Vemula Vishnu, 27, who returned to his job on Saturday after Dasara vacation, hanged himself from the ceiling fan with the help of a nylon rope in his room on the third floor of the building, police said.
Before committing suicide, Vishnu posted on his facebook page, “This is my last day.” Police suspect that unrequited love resulted in the suicide. Vishnu was a native of Konapuram village in Kothagudem mandal of Warangal district. He completed his post graduation in Warangal nearly 18 months ago and then joined as hostel warden. Last Tuesday, he went to his native place to celebrate Dasara and returned to the hostel Saturday morning. He was normal at work and did all his regular duties.
Around 11.30pm Saturday, he spoke to his colleague Ashok and went to his room. “A while ago, around 11pm, he had posted on his facebook page, ‘Bye Swathi’,” said Rajendranagar SI Shekar Reddy.
“Sunday morning, when colleagues knocked on his door, there was no response. They became suspicious and broke open the door. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan. We did not get any other clues from the spot,” added the SI.
