Cadets display exemplary talent at SNIC

Kakinada MP advises students to join NCC as it help them imbibe discipline

Kakinada: Ceremonial parade, mock attack demonstration, horse riding, sky diving, band display and cultural programmes marked the concluding day, on Sunday, of the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) held at APSP Grounds here.

The shows enthralled the audience. As many as 300 volunteers of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from across the country participated in the camp and ex-hibited their talents.

Kakinada MP Thota Venkata Narasimham was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony and he also received guard of honour from the cadets. Narasimham lauded the services of NCC cadets and advised students to join NCC as it would help them imbibe discipline and build character.

Another chief guest, deputy director general for AP NCC directorate, Air Cmde SR Gharpure, said cadets from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Nagaland to Mumbai participated in the SNIC.

They got to learn each others’ customs, traditions and culture. “NCC is the largest uniformed volunteer youth organisation in the world. The new syllabus for the cadets focuses on development of personality, leadership qualities and skills,” he pointed out and urged students to join NCC and the Armed Forces to serve the nation in a better way.

Air Vice Marshal HJ Walia, Kakinada Group NCC Commandant Col. S. Sathish Prabhu and Kakinada Rural MLA Pilli Anantha Lakshmi were present.
