APCC men campaign against NDA, arrested
Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Railway Police on Sunday arrested AP Congress leaders, led by party president N. Raghuveera Reddy, for conducting a virtual election campaign against the NDA without permission.
As announced earlier, Mr Reddy and other party leaders reached the Secunderabad station and held the virtual campaign in a train bound for Patna.
They charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with failure in fulfilling the promise of according Special Category Status to AP.
The APCC leaders went into the reserved bogies of the train and distributed pamphlets to the passengers, requesting them not to vote for the BJP in Bihar Assembly polls.
They said that the PM will fail to implement his promised special package to Bihar if the BJP comes to power there.
“Narendra Modi, during his 2014 election campaign said he would fulfil all the promises made to AP if the BJP came to power. He never kept his promise. He had recently announced a financial package of Rs 1.65 lakh crore for Bihar, but, like in the case of AP, the BJP will not implement this promise,” Mr Reddy told the passengers.
Mr Reddy will lead a team of five MPs to Patna to campaign for the Grand Alliance.
