Police said she had ended her life over family issues
Khammam: Chinala Priyanka, 17, a Class 10 topper two years ago, was found dead at her home in Khammam district on Saturday. Police said she had ended her life over family issues.
Priyanka, a student of the Krishnavenu College in Kothagudem, had scored 463 in her Intermediate I exam this year and 9.3 grade points in her Class 10 in 2014.
Police said Priyanka had gone home to Venkatapuram for Dasara. Her mother C. Lakshmi, who runs a tea stall, went to relieve her mother S. Buchamma.
When Buchamma entered her house, she found the body of Priyanka hanging from a ceiling fan.
She raised an alarm and neighbours brought down Priyanka and took her to the government hospital by which time she had died.
Priyanka’s father had died seven years back. Sources said Priyanka was unhappy with her mother’s friendship with a man.
She got a free seat in Krishnaveni College in Kothagudem because of her Class 10 marks. Recalling Priyanka as an intelligent student, college correspondent G. Jagadish said, “We were expecting Priyanka to get a state rank.” Sub-inspector Samudarala Jitender said the case was being investigated.
