Hyderabad High Court directs Eflu to reinstate PhD girl
The girl’s case was taken up in the High Court by V. Raghunath
Hyderabad: Admission of a visually challenged PhD girl student which was cancelled by the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) got reinstated by an interim order of the Hyderabad High Court recently. The girl student was made to run pillar to post by the university which forced her to approach the High Court.
As per affidavit filed by the student in High Court, her admission was cancelled without any prior notice. In her affidavit she alleged that the course instructor was prejudiced against her, her request for re-invigilation was not granted and that the university’s coordinator for the cell for disabled even suggested to Vice-Chancellor that she be given another chance to which there was no reply.
The girl has done her masters and M.Phil from University of Hyderabad. As per sources, the subject Contemporary India has some portion dedicated to films which is necessary to ‘watch’ to understand and this proved a problem. The girl’s case was taken up in the High Court by V. Raghunath of Civil Liberties Committee.
