Andhra Pradesh earns Rs 3,600 crore more this year
Hyderabad: The cash-strapped Andhra Pradesh state has earned more than Rs 3,600 crore additional revenue at the end of second quarter of present financial year compared to last year in the same period.
Among all revenue earning departments, the Stamps and Registration department has achieved 38.28 pc growth in earning revenue to state exchequer followed by the commercial taxes department by achieving 19.70 pc growth.
In the first two quarters from April to September in the present financial year, the state government earned Rs 20,928.79 crore through revenue earning departments.
In the same period last year, the state government earned Rs 17,314.72 crore. The state government has earned Rs 3,614.07 crore more revenue this year than last financial year. The state government has fixed highest targets to revenue earning departments this year. The major share in state-own revenue is from commercial taxes department followed by the excise department.
