Stranger held in journalist colony

The house owner and locals chased the man, caught him and handed him over to police
Hyderabad: A thirty-year-old man allegedly tried to break into a house in the Journalist Colony in broad daylight Saturday morning.
The house owner and locals chased the man, caught him and handed him over to police. Police found the man, Afsar, was mentally unsound and in an inebriated condition.
“He is an auto driver from Tappachabutra. The house owner Charan Singh, a government auditor, told the police that he found the man moving behind his house in the morning. When he shouted, the man ran away. The locals chased and caught him,” said SI from jubilee hills K. Ramesh, adding that no valuables were stolen.
When police interrogated Afsar, he behaved abnormally and was under the influence of alcohol.
His neighbours later told the cops he was suffering from mental illness.
“We are verifying as to what his intention was, whether it was theft or he was just roaming around,” said the SI.
