Salem: The senior general manager of Government- run Aavin has been arrested on the charges of torturing his wife on Saturday.
Police said that 48-year-old Alexander, a resident of Jahiretti area near Salem, is working as senior general manager at Aavin. He married Parithavani,41, who is a professor at Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital, a few years ago. The Aavin official has been frequently quarreling with his wife and harassing her due to his alleged addiction to liquor. On Saturday, the couple had a fierce dispute and his wife lodged a complaint at Suramangalam police. Based on the complaint, he was booked and arrested by the police.
