Bengaluru: Clerk hangs self at bank branch
BENGALURU: In separate incidents, two people were found dead on Saturday morning, including a 42-year-old bank employee who allegedly committed suicide in the bank, in Cubbon Park and R T Nagar police station limits respectively.
In the first incident, Suresh, a clerk in Union Bank of India, Head office Branch situated in Cubbon Park police station limits allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan on late Friday night. Suresh is survived by wife and two children.
The death came to light around 8 am after a canteen boy spotted the body hanging in the office from the ceiling fan.
During investigation, it was learnt that Suresh who was in an inebriated state was upset following a quarrel with this wife. The couple had a fight on Friday before Suresh left for work, over his drinking habit. After reaching office, Suresh cleaned the office and told the guard that he will be sleeping in the office itself. However, in the morning his body was found hanging from the ceiling.
A case of unnatural death is registered with Cubbon park police station.
In another incident, a security guard, said to be in his mid forties, was found dead inside the co-operative bank ATM kiosk on Saturday morning.
The deceased Thimmaiah, was deputed at the 5th Main RT Nagar Co-operative bank ATM kiosk. The death came to light around 10.30 am after few locals saw him lying motionless. They immediately alerted the police who then rushed to the spot and shifted his body to nearby hospital.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem. Police suspect that the guard might have died due to heart failure. However, the exact cause of the death will be ascertained once the post-mortem report is out. A case of unnatural death has been registered in R T Nagar police station, said an officer.
