The 2001 film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker had earned an Oscar nomination
Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan is reportedly not working on the sequel of Oscar nominated sports-drama 'Lagaan'.
There were rumours that Aamir had started work on the second installment of the film, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
However, a source went on to calrify the reports ans said, "It is completely false new. Itis not true at all."
The film that released in 2001, revolved around the struggles of a small village during the British Raj. The villagers who were oppressed by high taxes found themselves in an extraordinary situation when an arrogant officer challenges them to a game of cricket as a wager to avoid the taxes.
There were also reports that actress Prachi Desai was finalised to play the lead female protagonist.
The 50-year-old actor is currently busy working on his most talked about film 'Dangal' in which he plays wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.
