PM Modi: Centre will help Andhra Pradesh in all ways

KCR complimented Naidu and offered full support from Telangana

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Centre was committed to implementing the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

“We have already implemented some promises, starting with the development of human resources. Eleven educational centres including IIT, IIIT, IIM and NIT have been allotted to Andhra Pradesh and the Centre will support the state in every aspect of development including Amaravati. Chandrababu and I have perfect coordination and our teaming up will benefit Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Modi said.

Stating that not many new cities had come up in post-independent India, and that successive governments had failed to address the rapid urbanisation, Mr Modi said,

“The governments have seen it as a problem. I call it an opportunity. We have devised a plan to develop 100 smart cities and Amaravati will benefit from it.”

Meanwhile, the gathering clapped every time Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s name was mentioned, including when Mr Naidu presented him a bouquet. Although it was not part of the agenda, Mr Rao was given time to speak and he chose his words carefully. He complimented Mr Naidu and the people and offered full support from the people of Telangana state.
