Housing boon for poor: Taraka Rama Rao
Karimnagar: The much-anticipated double bedroom housing scheme was inaugurated by respective legislators across the district on Friday. Information and Technology minister K. Taraka Rama Rao formally launched the scheme at Mustabada and Gambheeraopet mandals by laying foundation stones. In the meantime, MLA Gangula Kamalakar started the scheme in the city.
Mr Rama Rao said that the scheme was a boon to people from weaker sections. He stated that the scheme would be implemented in a phased manner. He exuded confidence that all homeless would be provided with these houses by next two years. The government earmarked funds seven times more than the previous housing scheme, he claimed.
The minister assured that arrears with regard to Indiramma housing scheme would be paid to 36,000 eligible beneficiaries. A sum of Rs 4,000 crore is going to be spent for the scheme, he added.
