Hyderabad: Chain-snatchers struck again on Dasara day, spoiling the festive spirit in two families. In a span of an hour, masked men on pulsar bike targeted two housewives on their way to temple in incidents at different locations in Rajendranagar area.
The two were relieved of seven tolas of gold ornaments. Police said Santoshini, 32, a housewife from Hyderguda area, along with her husband was heading for the Saibaba temple at Gudimalkapur. Around 8.30pm, when their bike reached pillar 131 of PVNR Expressway, two masked men riding a black pulsar came from behind and snatched her four tola gold chain and fled towards Mehdipatnam. In the second incident, Lalitha, 45, a resident of Shivarampally, along with her husband was returning by bike from a temple at Mailardevpally. When they reached pillar 311 of the Expressway, the same gang snatched away her 3-tola gold chain.
“The snatchers were wearing black T-shirts and had their face covered with masks. Based on the identities given by the victims, we have established that the same gang committed both the offences,” said Rajendra Nagar detective SI Venkat Reddy.
