Sooraj Barjatya and his assistant directors stayed in a haveli where they shot major sequences of their film

A major portion of Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo was shot at a haveli that belonged to the Maharani of Gondal. And having spent so much time working on his film there, Sooraj, we hear, became particularly attached to the location. He opted to stay in the same haveli throughout the shoot, along with some assistant directors, rather than moving to a hotel after pack-up.

A source connected to the film told us, “The team of Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo had visited Gondal for an extensive recce for one of the pivotal shoot schedules. They were on the lookout for a beautiful haveli there. Sooraj fell in love with this one instantly — so much so, that for all the days the team was there, he insisted on staying in the haveli with his assistant directors. After pack up, when the rest of the cast and crew would go back to their respective hotels, Sooraj would explore the haveli. Now that the film is complete, Sooraj plans to have a small celebration at the same location for his crew.”
