Snag-hit Jammu airport suspends all flights
Jammu: A large number of passengers were stranded as Jammu airport authorities on Friday suspended all flights after detecting a "technical fault" on the runway.
"All the flights from and to Jammu airport were suspended following the detection of a technical fault on the runway," an airport official said.
The official, however, did not elaborate on what exactly the technical fault was. Technical teams were trying to rectify the fault so that flight operations could resume, the official said.
A survey conducted by the Indian Air Force had pointed out some technical faults on the airport's runway and recommended immediate corrections, the official added. "We are working on the recommendations and we are hopeful that the operations at the airport would be restored shortly," he said.
