No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack

Quetta: A government official says a powerful bomb at a Shiite mosque in southwest Pakistan has killed 10 people and wounded several others.

Provincial home minister Sarfraz Bugti says Thursday's attack took place in the district of Sibi, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.

He says authorities are transporting the dead and wounded to hospitals.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. It comes ahead of Ashoura, a 10-day ritual commemorating the death of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad
