Amaravati foundation stone-laying event: Two hosts say they’re ‘blessed’

Ceremony hosts Saikumar and Suneetha say they are grateful for the opportunity

Vijayawada: Excited about the opportunity of anchoring the Amaravati foundation stone-laying event in Uddandarayapalem, actor Saikumar said it was like a challenge and was also his duty to laud the efforts of CM Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu who is hoping to make a world-class city.

During a press meet here in the city, Saikumar and singer Suneetha expressed joy over news of being roped in as hosts for the big event in the state and added that the offer was very fortunate for both as they never expected be the part of the event.

Speaking to reporters, Saikumar said his voice has been his biggest asset — during his 40-year-old career in the film industry and also thanked his parents for giving such a “wonderful voice”.

“I’m fortunate because of this opportunity I have now. It’s like a challenge to me and it’s also my duty to laud the CM’s efforts. I also feel it’s the right time to give something back to the land we were born on,” he said.

Meanwhile singer Suneetha said the opportunity was a “blessing”. “Singing in front of dignitaries is a great thing. I’m actually enjoying the good deeds from my past life,” she said.

Along with these events, the Archaeological Survey of India is arranging a special display on Amaravati’s heritage at the ceremony.
