Vikas Bahl’s take on the Lata Mangeshkar-Hemant Kumar classic Need Na Mujhko Aaye in Shaandaar doesn’t seem to have gone down well with some fans of the original number. Not only have they taken offence at the filmmaker’s interpretation of P.L. Santoshi’s original lyrics as a clarion call for insomniacs, but have also found fault with Mike McCleary’s spin on it.

Among those who doesn’t seem to be too impressed is Lata Mangeshkar herself. When we asked for her opinion on Vikas’ take on her song, Lataji replied, “I haven’t heard it. And I don’t want to hear it.”

For his film Queen as well, Vikas has presented a remixed version of Asha Bhosle’s Hungama Ho Gaya.
