Cricketer Amit Mishra has been accused of allegedly assaulting a woman
Bengaluru: Cricketer Amit Mishra has been accused of allegedly assaulting a woman friend at a five-star hotel during a cricket camp conducted from September 21 to 27, said the police.
According to the police, the woman had known the cricketer for about three years and she had gone to visit the cricketer while he was in the city during the camp. While the woman had entered his room and the cricketer who came in later started arguing with her and he allegedly assaulted her with a tea kettle, said sources from the police. Some of the hotel staffers were witness to the incident and we have recorded their statements, added the police.
“The police will analyze the CCTV footage available at the hotel and we have issued a notice to the accused to present before the investigating officials within 7 days. “We have also emailed the notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India,” said Sandeep Patil, DCP central division.
Amit Mishra has been booked under IPC Sec 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and Sec 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
