Cricketer Amit Mishra accused of assaulting woman

Police have asked Mishra to appear before them in a week's time

Bengaluru: Cricketer Amit Mishra has been accused of allegedly assaulting a woman friend at a five-star hotel room where the cricketer was staying during late last month in Bengaluru.

The woman had lodged a formal complaint with the Ashok Nagar police on September 27 after which an FIR was registered against the cricketer and a police notice has been sent to him for presenting himself before the police within seven days for further inquiry.

The incident is said to have happened on the evening of September 25 at a room in a star hotel on Residency Road where the 30-member Indian unit was staying.
