DCC President K.C Abu's daughter and sitting councilor K.C Shobitha is the Congress candidate in Malaparambu ward.
In Thiruthiyad ward, T.V Lalithaprabha is the LDF candidate. She is the wife of former Mayor and CPM district secretariat member, T.P Dasan. A retired government employee, Lalithaprabha was part of the state leadership of a left service organization.
The UDF candidate in this ward is Divya Lakshmi, who is the relative of former health minister, Adv P. Shankaran.
In Medical College South ward, LDF has fielded M.M Padmavathi, wife of former Mayor and CPM district committee member P.T Rajan. In Chalappuram ward, KPCC member Adv. P.M Niyas is the UDF candidate.
He is the son of former DCC President, K. Sadirikoya. In Vellimadukunnu, the UDF candidate is Prameela Balagopal, wife of the sitting councilor, Balagopal. N. Padmanabhan Nair, husband of sitting councilor C.K Remadevi (CPM) is also in the fray as the LDF candidate.
Dr. P.P Geetha, the UDF candidate in Thadambaatu thazham ward is the wife of Congress leader and former Kerala Public Service Commission member, T.M Velayudhan.
