Journalist shot at in Kannauj

Lucknow: A journalist was shot at by unidentified assailants who tried to rob him in Kannauj district on Monday night.

Kannauj is the parliamentary constituency of SP MP Dimple Yadav.

The critically injured journalist has been admitted to a local hospital where his condition is said to be serious.

According to reports reaching here, the incident took place when journalist Deepka Gupta was going to pick up his wife who works as a primary school teacher in Malkanthour area.

While returning home with his wife on his scooter, he was overtaken by two motorcycle borne assailants who shot him from a point blank range.
