Amaravati foundation ceremony: Gummadi Gopala Krishna likely to perform
Vijayawada: Internationally renowned drama artiste Gummadi Gopala Krishna’s performance is expected to be the highlight of the Amaravati capital foundation stone laying ceremony on October 22.
Gopala Krishna, a native of Meduru in Krishna district, is the only artiste locally to take the art abroad. He has trained over 200 NRI students in stage plays in the United States. He is known for his portrayal of Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Jesus Christ, Narada among others.
In a tribute to farmers Mr Gopala Krishna would render verses written by him.
“The land where capital would be built has a history of several centuries. The farmers who came forward to give away such historic land should be lauded. One of the four verses would be a tribute to the farmers,” he said.
“The Chief Minister has taken a lot of effort to make Amaravati possible. All his experiences would be rendered in another verse. I have written four verses, which would explain the greatness of rulers who ruled Amaravati and also its greatness,” he said.
