JJ Abrams slams racist Tweets
Abrams has hit back at racist comments that hit the movie’s trailer release on Monday
J.J. Abrams, who’s helming the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, has hit back at racist comments that hit the movie’s trailer release on Monday.
His production house Bad Robot tweeted a photo of a hand-written note from Abrams that read, “We cannot wait to share the trailer with you tonight. I don’t care if you’re black, white, brown, jawa, wookiee, jedi or sith. I just hope you like it!”
Some of the Tweets had criticised his decision to use black actor John Boyega as his lead, with one Twitter user saying, “#BoycottStarWarsVII because it is anti-white propaganda promoting #whitegenocide.”
