Untreated drainage polluting city lakes: Environment Minister

Javadekar attributed untreated drainage water to the increasing pollution level
Bengaluru: Soon, polluted lakes of the city will be revived along the lines of Ganga river mission.
On Monday, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar explained his mission for the city lakes which are awaiting rejuvenation. “The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has already submitted a report on the cause of pollution. All agencies involved in lake development will work together in association with civic groups. I will organise another meeting in March 2016 to review the progress,” he said.
Javadekar attributed untreated drainage water to the increasing pollution level. “City lakes will be developed in line with Ganga river cleaning mission. Everyone will be taken into confidence before finalising a concrete action plan. All the works will be implemented in a time bound manner,” he explained.
