Ramalinga Reddy warns Vibgyor

He warned that the school building will be demolished

Bengaluru: Bengaluru district-in-charge minister Ramalinga Reddy warned the land owners of Vibgyor High in Thubarahalli in Mahadevpura that the school building will be demolished, if they failed to submit government approved building plans. Following numerous complaints by locals in Thubarahalli, the minister conducted an inspection on Monday. The locals alleged that the land owners of Vibgyor High, Chandra Reddy and Ramesh Reddy, had blocked the Vibgyor Main Road, though the road was meant for public use.

According to Reddy, the local land and property owners agreed to leave space to develop a 40 feet road. However, the owners of an upcoming apartment complex violated norms and had not demarcated space for the public road.

“Provoked by this, the land owners too decided to barricade the road and blocked entry on Vibgyor Main Road. Hundreds of commuters had to face problems due to this,” Reddy said.

During the inspection, land owners refused to fall in line with the BBMP and maintained that the road would not be thrown open to public. Irked with this, the minister sought the sanction plan of the building. It came to light that the land owners had not obtained sanction plan to construct the school. However, they maintained that permission was taken from Gram Panchayat.

Reddy warned the owners that the building would be demolished if they failed to submit authentic documents and sanction plans. He also instructed the BBMP officials to cancel the sanction plan, if they did not submit genuine documents for the building.

It can be recalled that a few days ago the BMTF officials had demolished the barricades used to block the road. The land owners, however, managed to block the road again.

Irregularities galore in Yelahanka BBMP offices
The members of Staff and Administrative Standing Committee found that gang men and lower rank workers were in charge of record room in BBMP office in Yelahanka on Monday. During an inspection by the committee, it came to light that none of the BBMP offices in Yelahanka zone were functioning properly. The members found that 40 per cent of the staff had not reported to work. The Committee chairman instructed zonal commissioner Sarfaraz Khan to issue showcause notice to the employees. “If they don’t have genuine justification as to why they were not in office, suspend them,” the chairman told Mr Khan. Also, none of the offices had biometric facility to record attendance of the employees. Among various other irregularities, the committee also found that the offices lacked hygiene.
