People now regret voting for Modi, TRS: Digvijay Singh
WARANGAL: Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of deceiving people with fake promises, AICC general secretary and Telangana in-charge Digvijay Singh on Monday said that people have started ruing their decision to voting the two to power.
Mr Singh was in Warangal to attend a party workers’ meeting ahead of the bypoll for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat.
He said both the PM and Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had made major promises before the elections and now do not even remember their promises. “What happened to the black money Narendra Modi promised to bring back? Where is the Rs 25 lakh he promised to credit in all your bank accounts?” Mr Singh asked the party workers, who answered him in the negative.
“Modi also said he would do what the Congress could not do in its rule. Yes, he did. He managed to take the prices of dal to Rs 200 per kg, from the Rs 60 to Rs 70 per kg during UPA rule,” he said.
Referring to the encounter in Govindaraopet in which two Maoists were killed, Mr Singh said, “KCR should be ashamed of the heinous act against Maoists. How can a state government, which promised a bright future for the youth, act so brutally against a young girl?”
Demanding the state government immediately announce a one time settlement of loan for farmers, he predicted that the TRS’ decline would begin from the byelection in Warangal.
