Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) issued showcause notices to 12 students on Monday for taking part in protests on October 15.
Ironically, what had sparked off the protests was issuing of showcause notices to students for various reasons including posting ‘defamatory’ message on Facebook and putting up a poster on the campus for documentary screening with name of a student political organization on it.
The protests in Eflu have been going on for nearly a week now. The showcause notice issued by the university asked the students to give a reason as to why disciplinary actions should not be taken against them for “incitement of unrest on campus” leading to protest.
