BENGALURU: Maggi noodles could soon be back on the shelves as the state government has decided to scrap the four-month-old ban, health minister U.T. Khader said on Monday.
Lack of clarity on permissible limits of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead resulted in withdrawal of the ban on sale of instant noodles.
“Karnataka was implementing FSSAI (Food and safety Standards Authority of India)’s order since June this year. Since then, we have repeatedly asked them (FSSAI) to clarify on permissible limits (of MSG and lead), but they have remained silent,” Mr Khader said.
