Talking about her bold dialogues like “When I see him, I feel like having sex with him”, in the upcoming film Main Aur Charles, Richa Chadda says, “Whatever a role needs, I do it.”
“I am more uncomfortable with double meaning dialogue like, ‘kela’ etc. As an actor, I have to feel comfortable in every character and I cannot be judgemental about the script,” she says, adding, “I have also said dialogues like ‘Main tumhare bacche ki maa banne wali hoon’. This is also bold.
“This film is based on lots of research and some dramatisation. How a good and educated girl falls into the trap of a bad, jailed man and destroys her life. Seduction is an important part of this character that if you don’t portray it well then the film doesn’t make sense.”
According to Richa, a “seductress is someone with mystery and one who celebrates her sexuality rather than hiding it”.
“This film is based on police case files. All the adjectives that have been used in the film are apt for him.”
She has all praises for Pooja Bhatt, who was instrumental in making her perform cabaret, Richa adds, “My inspiration is Pooja Bhatt, who fought with everyone to cast me in such a glamorous role. Since Gangs of Wasseypur everyone used to say that I was an art film actress. Finally it took a female to think of me as ‘sexy’ and cast me in a role that’s considered ‘glamorous’.” “I am sexy and I like playing glamorous roles,” she adds.
