Telangana yet to bar job interviews
The TSPSC could issue notifications only for graduates to fill about 3,400 posts
Hyderabad: A month before the PM made remarks on job interviews, the TS government had taken a decision to conduct interviews for Groups posts, to be filled by the TS Public Service Commission.
Arrangements were made to issue Groups notifications in the last week of September itself, but they were kept on hold following the Centre’s directives barring interviews.
Though it’s more than a month since these directives were issued, the TS government is yet to take a call on barring interviews and issuing a revised exam pattern to this effect.
“The letter sent by DoPT barring interviews has been referred to the CM. There is no communication from the CMO in this regard so far. Unless the government gives clarity on this, the Finance department cannot approve the posts to enable TSPSC to release notifications,” said an official of the finance department.
With this, the TSPSC could issue notifications only for graduates to fill about 3,400 posts. However, it’s the Groups notifications that attract lakhs of applications, the eligibility being graduation. For Group-II alone, the government expects 20 lakh applications.
The government has so far identified 50 Group-I and 430 Group-II posts for which notifications are awaited.
