Snatcher from Maharashtra caught

Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force caught a chain-snatcher on Charminar Express while he was trying to rob a woman passenger.
The accused, 22-year-old N. Rohit from Thane, is a known offender, railway police said.
Rohit got into the train on Saturday night and approached a woman in S4 coach. While he was trying to snatch her chain the woman raised an alarm and other passengers got alerted.
Soon, the RPF men on the platform received information.
“Though the snatcher tried to escape a team from the crime prevention detection division, a team of the crowd control unit chased him down,” said an officer from the RPF.
The woman passenger, Jhansi Lakshmi from Golconda, was wearing a 30 gram gold chain.
During questioning, Rohit said that he had been living in Hyderabad for some months and was also involved in some petty crimes.
The criminal was handed over to the Secunderabad railway police.
The cops booked a case and are examining the offences he was involved in the past.
