Sagnik Senat Banjara Function Hall, Masab Tank
Sagnik Sen from Kolkata performed songs of legendary playback singer Hemanta Kumar Mukherjee at the Durga Puja celebrations organised by Bengalee Cultural Association at Banjara Function Hall, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
Says Sagnik Sen, “Music is a blessing and in my blood as my parents Swapan Sen and Abha Sen are singers themselves. I sing Bengali songs, Hindi classic songs, original compositions and songs of Rabindranath Tagore. It is heartening to note that most of my fans on Facebook come from the age group of 15 years to 25 years. Hemanta Kumar was a popular singer in his time... even famous playback singer Asha Bhosle named her son after him. I am very passionate about taking up music as my full-time profession despite some hesitancy from my mother who was keen that I pursue my studies in computer science. I have already released two albums Srabon Hawa and O Bhorer Pakhi and done a television show specifically about songs sung by Hemanta Kumar and filmed on actor Uttam Kumar.”
