I shouldn’t have been so open: Ankit Gera

The actor speaks about his elimination and equation with ex-flame Roopal Tyagi

Mumbai: Bigg Boss seldom fails to surprise and so far, the ninth edition of the reality show, themed “Double Trouble” seems to have lived up to expectations with all the drama that has been unfolding. Nobody expected to see Ankit Gera to be shown the door this early, but it happened.

“I never thought that I’d be the first one to leave. I thought I’d get to stay around, make some good memories, and know people. But well, it’s Bigg Boss and anything can happen,” says Ankit.

Watching Ankit leave was hard on other contestants as well, especially his co-star and ex-flame, Roopal Tyagi who couldn’t control her tears. Ankit says his equation with Roopal was “normal” inside the house. “When I entered the house, she was the one who came up to me and greeted me. Inside the house, we were like family. Yes, I heard that she discussed me with others but I didn’t do that. I never discussed my past with anyone in the house. I am not that kind of a person who holds on to negativity,” Ankit says.

The actor, who has been tagged a ‘casanova’, seemed a completely different person in the house. “People see me in the light of what has been written about me. But that’s not who I really am. The guy you saw inside the house is the real me — easy-going, one that doesn’t hold a grudge and just wants to make everyone happy.” But that may just be the reason why he was ousted, feels Ankit. “I shouldn’t have been so open and free. I didn’t step inside with a game plan. After elimination, I got to know that Suyyash and Roopal nominated me. My friends nominated me. I didn’t nominate my friends. But it doesn’t matter. Everyone is here to play the game,” Ankit says with a smile.

Ask him who in the house he’d put his money on and Ankit says, “Mandana and Keith are good players. They know how to be around cameras and maintain themselves.”
