I am selective about my films: Seerat Kapoor
Seerat Kapoor, who had made her debut with the hit film Run Raja Run opposite Sharwanand last year, is looking forward to her third release, Columbus, this Friday. She has been paired with Sumanth Ashwin in this film.
The actress says that she has been getting a lot of offers, but is taking it slow. “I want to be associated with good scripts. It is not necessary that I sign many movies and do back-to-back films… Quality is more important to me,” she says, adding, “I would love to work every day, but I want good scripts and thus, I am very selective.”
Talking about her character Neeru in Columbus, Seerat says, “She is confident, outspoken and very career-oriented. The film is an unusual love story, not a regular film.”
She adds that her co-star Sumanth is a very talented actor. “He is very easy to work with and is always focused,” she says.
For Seerat, language is not a barrier. “I never lip sync while shooting. I say the dialogues in Telugu. I take the effort of learning the language. I used to get Telugu and English books and learn the meanings,” she says, adding, “Now, I am three films old and am used to it. I agree that there were difficulties in the language, but I overcame them successfully,” feels the actress.
Talking about her co-star in the film, Mishty Chakraborty, Seerat says, “I know that in the industry everyone thinks that two actresses cannot get along when they work in a film, but we had a good time. Mishty is a nice human being and we had fun on the sets. We know our strengths and are secure and comfortable,” she says.
“I am not the typical pretty looking girl and there are a lot of things that can go against me. Lot of people like my hairstyle but it is not the usual look again. It depends on one’s perspective — it can go for you or against you. I am very thankful to the industry that I was appreciated for my work and I am getting better and bigger,” she says.
She adds that she is now watching Telugu films. “Before my debut film, I had never seen a Telugu film, but now I watch Telugu movies and also Telugu channels. I had last watched Baahubali. In fact, Prabhas used to come to our sets when I was shooting for Run Raja Run,” she says.
“He was very humble and down-to-earth and I didn’t feel as if I was sitting next to a big star,” Seerat says about Prabhas.
