Finance Ministry officials set to meet market players on October 20-21
New Delhi: Aimed at ensuring ease of doing business in the financial market, the Finance Ministry will hold two-day interactive meetings with foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and domestic market participants.
Starting Tuesday, the Department of Economic Affairs will organise the interaction starting off with FPIs.
This will include discussions on simplifying procedures and documentation for registration of FPIs, development of the fund management industry in India, and FPI investment in the corporate bond market, a finance ministry statement read.
The officials will meet domestic market participants and stock exchange representatives on October 21.
The second meeting will cover integration of various segments of the market, ways to increase retail participation and deepening of the corporate bond market.
Representatives of RBI, Sebi and CBDT, among others, will also attend the meetings.
"Foreign investors and domestic market participants would raise various issues of interest to them as part of this consultation exercise," the statement added.
