Vodafone to start 4G services in Delhi NCR from December
New Delhi: Mobile phones users in Delhi NCR will have one more option for 4G services, as Vodafone is ready to start its high-speed mobile services in the region from December.
"We are excited to launch our new 4G services on the superior 1800 MHz band for our customers. Having launched 4Gservices in several countries, Vodafone has the requisite expertise and experience to ensure that its service in Delhi/NCR will be best in class," Vodafone India Business Head for Delhi NCR Apoorva Mehrotra said in a statement on Monday.
Vodafone said it has invested more than Rs 350 crore to upgrade the existing voice and data network and installed more than 550 sites in the last six months in the region.
"Key corridors of Delhi/NCR will be part of the first wave of the 4G roll-out, which will be launched across the circle in a phased manner. Testing of 4G services has commencedsuccessfully," Vodafone said.
Delhi and NCR area, which includes Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon accounts for around 30 per cent of data revenues andis, one of the top data markets for Vodafone in India. The region is growing around 50 per cent year-on-year for the company.
Bharti Airtel has already started offering the next generation broadband services in Delhi NCR. Reliance Jio Infocomm also has plans to roll out commercial 4G services in Delhi but it is yet to announce details.
