YSRC MLAs in fix over Amaravati foundation ceremony

Jagan had made it clear that he would not attend the function

Kakinada: YSR Congress leaders are in a dilemma on whether to attend the Amaravathi foundation stone laying ceremony on Vijayadasami on October 22 as they have not received any instructions from their party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan had made it clear that he would not attend the function. However, the party has not given any directions to MLAs or party leaders. Two MLAs received invitations from the government by post and some of the MLAs have not received invitations till now.

“When I was sleeping, an employee from Krishna District Collector’s office phoned me. I advised him to phone in the morning. Meanwhile I received the invitation by post today morning,” said Tuni MLA, Dadisetty Ramali-ngeswara Rao (Raja).

However, he said that he would follow the direction of their party chief.

Kothapet MLA, Chirla Jaggireddy who also received an invitation by post said that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should answer the questions, posed by Jagan on capital construction.

However, Prathipadu MLA, Varupula Subba Rao said that he had not received any invitation from the government till Saturday.

Meanwhile, ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party and opposition parties such as CPM, Communist Party of India and others have received invitations.

The state government has sent 3,700 invitations to the district administration for distribution to ZPTCs, MPTCs, MPPs and local bodies and civic body representatives. The government also sent invitations to prominent persons in the district.

“The MPDOs would distribute it to public representatives of their respective areas. The invitations would be sent to the people through SMS and other communication methods,” said the Chief Planning Officer J. Vijayalakshmi
