Supporters of rebel lay siege to KPCC office
Some 50 protesters thronged the KPCC office after 11 a.m. catching the office-bearers off guard
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The supporters of Congress rebel candidate K. Rakesh, former Pallichal grama panchayat president, staged a demonstration in the KPPCC office here in protest against the denial of a seat to him.
Mr Rakesh is facing a Vigilance case in connection with illegal quarry activities at Mookunnimala and the party had decided not to give ticket to those involved in cases.
Some 50 protesters thronged the KPCC office after 11 a.m. catching the office-bearers off guard.
They held a flex board of the rebel candidate and lay on the corridor of the KPCC office next to party president V. M. Sudheeran’s room. At that time, Mr. Sudheeran was not in the office.
They shouted slogans against Mr Sudheeran and DCC officials and stayed there till 5 p.m.
